A good old fashion favourite, we have all cooked these at school or with our kids!!!
Prep Time: 15 Minutes
Cook Time: 10 Minutes
Bakes 8-10 Buns
Ingredients
200g Self-raising flour
100g Butter or margarine
100g Caster sugar
1 Tbsp milk
Pinch of salt
1 Egg
Raspberry Jam
Method
Preheat the oven to 200C
Mix the flour and salt in a large bowl.
Rub in butter/margarine using your fingertips.
Stir in caster sugar and then make a well in the centre.
Whisk the egg and stir in with a wooden spoon, mix in the milk.
On a floured surface bring the mixture together until a dough is formed.
Roll into a long baton and cut into 8-10 pieces, then roll into balls.
Shape each one into a round bun and place on the prepared baking tray.
Make a hollow in the centre by gently pushing your thumb into the centre and then put the jam in the middle to fill the hole.
Bake for 8-10 mins, until well risen and brown. Cool on a wire rack.
I hope the bake goes well….
